Clinical Expertise

Dr. Rimpi Nakhwal, born and raised in Ontario, Canada, serves patients throughout Metro Phoenix at Barnet Dulaney Perkins Eye Center. She provides comprehensive optometric care with a focus on treating double vision, dry eyes, glaucoma, and eye conditions related to diabetes or traumatic brain injury. She is fluent in Punjabi and Hindi, allowing her to connect with a diverse patient population.

Education and Medial Training

Dr. Nakhwal attended Western University in London, Ontario, where she earned her Honors Double Major in Medical Science and Biology, followed by a Master’s in Management of Applied Sciences. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Midwestern University College of Optometry in Glendale, Arizona.

Accolades

While earning her Doctor of Optometry degree, Dr. Nakhwal was a Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Society member and received the Excellence Award in Pediatrics and Vision Therapy. She later completed a specialized residency in Visual Rehabilitation and Brain Injury at the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. She gained advanced experience in post-stroke/trauma care, ocular disease, and adult primary care. She also evaluated ocular health in patient rehabilitation hospitals.

Personal Interests

In her free time, Dr. Nakhwal enjoys playing pickleball, singing, cooking, and discovering new hikes and restaurants around the Phoenix area.
